Rent a website: we make it, we run it, you pay monthly

Renting a website means you skip the big bill at the start. You pay a fixed amount each month, and for that you get both the site itself and all the work of keeping it running.

From NOK 1,490/month excl. VAT. No setup fee, no lock-in.

What "renting" means with us

"Rent" covers a lot of different things. With some providers you rent access to a template you fill in yourself. With others you pay a low monthly price for 36 months and own nothing when the period ends. So it is worth spelling out exactly what it means here:

We make the site from scratch

No template for you to fill in. We design and code the site for your business, based on what you tell us.

You do not pay for the build

The work of making the site is part of the monthly price. There is no setup invoice.

We run and update it

Server, certificate, backups and monitoring are our job. Ordinary changes are done when you send us an email.

No lock-in

You can cancel whenever you like. The site stays up until the end of the period you have paid for.

The domain is yours

The domain is registered in your name. The text and images are yours, and you can ask for a copy at any time.

The code is ours

We own the source code and are responsible for keeping it working. That is what lets us keep the price down and handle the running of it.

What you get for the money

A website is not finished on the day it is published. It needs a certificate that gets renewed, backups, someone who notices if it goes down, and someone who puts the new price list up in January. That is the work that often gets forgotten when people buy a site, and it is what you pay for when you rent from us.

In concrete terms:

  • Design and coding of the site, built for phones first
  • Connecting your domain, with an SSL certificate that renews automatically
  • Monitoring every five minutes, with an alert to us if the site stops responding
  • A backup of the whole site every night
  • Ordinary changes to text, images and layout when you ask
  • A privacy page and cookie handling that follow Norwegian rules
  • One invoice a month as a PDF by email

Bigger rebuilds and entirely new features, such as a login area for your customers, are agreed as a separate job. That is also in the terms.

Where you end up depends on how much the site needs to contain. We agree a fixed price before we start, and you see it again on the approval page before you say yes.

When does renting make sense?

The honest answer is: not always. If you have time, enjoy doing this kind of thing yourself and do not mind the site looking like a template, a website builder will be cheaper. If you have NOK 50,000 to spend today and an employee who can handle the updates, buying may be the right call.

Renting suits you best when you want a site made for you specifically, but do not want to tie up money at the start or spend your own time running it. It also suits you if you are unsure: nothing is invoiced until you have seen the site and approved it, and there is no lock-in, so there is little to lose by trying.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between renting and buying a website?

When you buy, you pay for the build up front and handle hosting and updates yourself, or pay someone extra for it. When you rent from us, both the build and the running of the site are in a fixed monthly price, and we are responsible for keeping it working.

Do I own the website when I rent it?

You own the content and the domain. We own the source code, and you have the right to use the site for as long as the agreement runs. You can ask for a copy of your text and images at any time.

What happens if I cancel?

The site stays up until the end of the period you have paid for, and is then taken down. The domain is yours, so you can point it at a new site wherever you like.

Is there a lock-in period?

No. The agreement runs month to month.

How much does it cost to rent a website?

With us, from NOK 1,490 a month excl. VAT, with no setup fee. The final price depends on what the site needs to contain, and is agreed before we start.
