A website for tradespeople that brings in jobs, not one that just exists

A customer thinking about letting you into their home wants to know three things before they call: that you do the kind of job they need, that you work where they live, and that you are a proper business. The website is where you show it.

The phone number is the most important thing on the site

Customers rarely order a new bathroom through a form online. They call, or they send a message with a few photos. So the phone number should be easy to tap from a phone, at the top of every page, not hidden behind a "Contact us" page.

For those who would rather write, a simple form or an email link is enough: what is it about, where is it, and how do we reach you. Not twelve fields.

Many tradespeople get much of their work through tender platforms and word of mouth, and think a website does not matter much. But that is exactly where it helps: when a customer has your name from a neighbour, the first thing they do is search for it. If they find a tidy site with photos of jobs you have done, they are half convinced before they call.

What the site should show

This is what separates a serious tradesperson from a random ad.

What you actually do

"All plumbing work" says little. "New bathrooms, water heaters, heat pumps and leaks" says more, and is what people search for.

Where you work

Which municipalities and areas you take jobs in. The customer does not want to call only to find out you do not go there.

Jobs you have done

Before and after photos from your own projects, ideally with a sentence about what was done.

Approvals and certificates

Master craftsman certificate, trade certificate, approved wet-room company, registration in the electrical contractors register. Whatever you have should be shown.

Who you are

A photo of the people and the company van does more than you think. The customer is going to let you in.

Org. number and insurance

The organisation number at the bottom of the page, and that you have liability insurance. Small things that build trust.

When you have time for the website: never

That is often why tradespeople have an old site nobody has touched in five years. With us, we keep it up to date. If you have a new number, have started doing heat pumps or just finished a bathroom you are proud of, send an email with the photos and we put it up. That is included in the monthly price.

We also make sure the site is actually up. We check it every five minutes and are alerted if something is wrong, long before a customer gets round to telling you.

Questions and answers

How much does a website for a tradesperson cost?

From NOK 1,490 a month excl. VAT. A simple site with services, area, photos and contact details is exactly the kind of site the starting price is set for. The price is agreed before we start, and there is no setup fee.

Can customers send photos through the website?

The simplest and safest is for them to send photos by email or message, and for the website to make your number and address easy to find. If you need an upload form we can build one, but it is agreed as an extra job.

How many pages does a tradesperson need?

Usually fewer than you think. A front page, one page per main service, past jobs and contact details is enough for most. One page per service also makes it easier to be found for exactly what the customer searches for.

Can you add new reference jobs?

Yes. Send us photos and a couple of sentences about the job and we put it up. It is an ordinary change and included in the monthly price.

Want a site that makes the phone ring?

Register the business and we will get in touch. We build the site, you look at it, and nothing is invoiced until you approve it. From NOK 1,490/month excl. VAT.
